All The Kit and the Environment
"At All The Kit, we are committed to promoting sustainability and minimizing our environmental impact on our wonderful and precious planet. We recognise the fact that the events industry can be very wasteful and we strive to take proactive measures to reduce our carbon footprint while delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. We understand that our actions today shape the world of tomorrow, and we are dedicated to creating a more sustainable future for all"
Christian Lange and Nick Sage - directors of All The Kit 2024
So.. what are we doing about it?

Making a statement about our wish to be sustainable is easy enough but it only counts if we actually do something about it, so here are some of the things that we are doing to try and make a difference:

-
Made a public commitment

If one is going to be serious about taking action to be more sustainable, it is important to make a public commitment and be transparent about what action is being taken. We have therefore joined thousands of other businesses and signed up to the SME Climate Hub commitment. This is a non-profit global initiative that empowers small to medium sized businesses to take climate action. We have committed to report back on a yearly basis so that we can be held to account on our progress. We have committed to halve our carbon footprint by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050 but we hope to do so much more quickly. Step one is to calculate our carbon footprint.

-
Help clients to plan more sustainable events

Organising events and parties is hard work and it is very easy to lose sight of the need to be sustainable. We are here to help as much as possible by giving our clients as many sustainable options as possible. Renting equipment is always a good start! We have developed a useful page on our website on this LINK to provide our clients with helpful hints and ideas to make their events greener. Our longer term aim is to be able to give our clients detailed information on the carbon footprint of the hire equipment that we provide.

-
Develop a plan to get us there.

We have made a start by looking at many of our processes to see where there might be quick wins. For example, we have fitted velcro tags to all our cables to avoid using so much plastic tape. A small step but you would be amazed at how much it has reduced our use of the stuff. We now also have some Instagrid battery packs which often negate the need to use fossil fuel generators. We work with local companies such as the Perfect Plastic Glass Hire company to reduce the need to use single-use plastic at events.
-
Support local green and sustainable groups

We are proud to have been involved with many events that promote sustainability in our local area. For example we have supported and sponsored Salisbury's People In The Park events since 2020 where we have provided two stages that are powered by electric cars, pedal power or solar arrays. These are events that are organised by Salisbury Transition City and are aimed at getting the community together to consider ways to be more sustainable.. and have fun!
We have also supported events organised by Wiltshire Climate Alliance including concerts and conferences.
